ABOUT ME AS A PHOTOGRAPHER
Photography is an art I fell in love with. I grew up watching my dad use his camera, provoking a sense of curiosity inside me. As I became increasingly fascinated with photography, a burning interest began to increase inside me.
My main subject of choice is people. This comes from my true love and appreciation for the human experience of emotion and life. I want my subjects to feel beautiful and comfortable during this process of being photographed, so they can show me who they are. I use my camera to capture and document moments in life. It is my favorite way of expressing myself.
ABOUT ME AS A GRAPHIC DESIGNER
I used digital design as my tool to create edits based on users' requests. In 4 years, 1500+ users have contacted me. My work consists of communicating with clients and hearing what they want and how they want it. Most will state an idea, putting all their hope in me to make it a reality.
I have designed wedding invitations, front pages for newspapers, posters, banners, menus, social media ads, and images for websites and blogs.
It takes commitment, time, and effort. I can confidently say that the encouragement from my clients and achieving what they want to push me to do better.
I have learned from other artists and used their works as inspiration, finding my unique style in this field.
The story of how I got to combine my passion and my talent…
How it all started…
As a little girl, my father’s camera always seemed attracted to my dad’s camera. I remember watching him carefully as he snapped pictures, freezing a moment in time.
Creating my own buisness…
As I grew older, my love of photography only deepened and I knew that I wanted to make it more than just a hobby. I began to practice and experiment with different techniques and styles, eventually deciding to start my own photography business. At first, it was a slow and steady process, but as word of my talent spread, I found myself booked almost every week, editing and shooting daily. Taking pictures became my favorite way of expressing myself and I was thrilled to be able to do what I loved for a living.
Bad news…
Everything changed when I received news that my visa status would not allow me to work. I was devastated, feeling like all of the hard work I had put into my business was for nothing. It was then that I was struck by a beautiful idea: I could combine two of my greatest passions - service and photography - and use my talent to bring joy to others.
Pictures for joy…
And so, "Pictures for Joy" was born. This project involves trading photoshoots for gift packs to be personally delivered to homeless individuals. Not only do these encounters bring joy to those in need, but they also provide a chance for me to document the happiness that my work brings. I invite my clients to join me on these deliveries and share in the experience, knowing that the gift of their pictures has made a difference in someone's life.
What I learned from it…
Through this experience, I have learned that it is not the money that brings me the most satisfaction, but rather the opportunity to use my talent to make a positive impact on the world. Despite facing a huge obstacle with my visa status impeding my original photography business, it ultimately proved to be a moment of revelation of my new path for my artistic passion. Since then, I have been nothing but grateful for the immense blessings that have come my way and made my project possible, through the generous assistance of those in my community.
